Burgundy wine from Longford Wines. Pierre André is credited with having almost single-handedly revived the world market for Burgundy wines, which had become so moribund by the early 1930's that there was a wholesale closing down of vineyards in the Burgundy area. To this day, his achievement is recognized by the reservation of two seats for the Pierre André team in the middle front row at the annual Hospices de Beaune wine auction - a favoured position from which many Hospices wines have found their way onto our Longford Burgundy list.
