Policy: It is Longford Wine's policy to treat our customers in exactly in the way we like to be treated ourselves. We don't like small print, however to enhance your security and our creditability and to comply with new legislation (EC Distance Selling Directive) we are required to offer you our own 'large print' version. You should note that your statutory rights under the current consumer protection laws are not affected (more probably enhanced).
Ordering: We will not sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and we reserve the right not to deliver if we are unsure of this.
Our minimum purchase is 12 standard bottles or their equivalent (9 litres) of wines and spirits, any mix. This minimum purchase does not apply to gift packs which are sold separately.
Data & Privacy: The financial element of the transaction is passed to a third party 'Protx' (a wholly owned subsidiary of Sage Group PLC). 'Payment Security' below has information on how your financail details are protected. No personal financial details are stored by us. The information collected from you at the time you place an order (on you or those you gift to) will be stored in our database and is used purely to carry out your instructions. If you have joined our Wine Club then we will use your email address and name only to send periodic emails about our products and services. There are no circumstances under which, this information might be passed to a third party. . No personal or financial details are left unencrypted on a remote server, and such details are never sent by internet email.
Payment Security : We want you to shop with us in confidence. Our secure payment system is powered by Protx (www.protx.com ). Protx payment system uses a combination of established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Protx's internet facing web servers are certified by Verisign, this ensures that no third parties can impersonate Protx to obtain secure information. Protx, a wholy owned subsidiary of SAGE are leader in payment transactions. Security is the most significant concern during the online transaction. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is highly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations
The transfer of less sensitive transaction details from the Longford Wines website to Protx is encrypted and digitally signed. This ensures that the information passed is secure and tamper proof. any communication between Longford Wines nd Protx is encrypted to the maximum strenght supported by your browser.
All data stored on Protx system is held on encrypted and highly secured databases. Protx are regularly audited by VISA and MasterCard to ensure that their systems conform to the latest security standards.
We accept VISA, VISA Delta, MasterCard, Maoestro, SOLO (UK only), Switch and MasterCard Eurocard.
Delivery: Delivery is free for all orders over 24 bottles, anywhere in mainland UK. Standard delivery at £8.00 per drop applies to orders of under24 bottles. Delivery times and charges for other areas, including the Scottish Isles, The Isle of Man, The Isle of Wight, The Isles of Scilly are available on request.
For orders of all items we normally guarantee delivery within seven days of your order. The delivery window will be confirmed during the checkout process. However, if it is impossible to come to a mutually agreeable delivery arrangement in this time, the actual delivery time may be extended until such arrangement is guaranteed.
We may use an independent courier. The courier will only attempt to deliver the product twice, after which we regret that you will be responsible for making your own arrangements with them for delivery. The products will be returned to our warehouse if they have not been collected from the courier 3 days after the second delivery attempt, and we reserve the right to pass on the cost of redelivery in this event.
Damaged Goods:
Should a wine be damaged in delivery we will gladly offer a replacement or full refund . Notification can be by telephone, post, fax, or email within three working days of delivery.
Faulty Goods:
If a wine is found to be corked or faulty we will be happy to offer a replacement or credit .
Notification must be given to us within 3 working days of delivery.
Incorrect Goods Delivered:
On the rare occasions this happens we offer a refund or replacement of the incorrect goods, on return of the bottle(s) in question.
Notification must be given to us within 7 working days of delivery.
Cancelling your order:
For your complete peace of mind, you may cancel your order within 7 working days of receipt of goods. A refund excluding return postage & packaging will be given, provided that the goods remain in good condition and that the request to cancel is received in writing or email. Any cancelled order will be refunded within 30 days.
Prices : All prices (except En Primeur, see separate section) are inclusive of VAT. Delivery is free for orders of more than 24 bottles and Promotional offers and prices are as stated, with no further discounts available. Although we endeavour to ensure that all pricing information on this website is accurate, occasionally an error may occur and goods may be mis-priced. If we discover a pricing error we will, at our discretion, either: contact you and ask you whether you wish to cancel your order or continue with the order at the correct price; or notify you that we have cancelled your order. We will not be obliged to supply goods at the incorrect price. We reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, goods and specifications of goods at our discretion at any time before (but not after) we accept your order. Where an end date is specified on any offer on the website, it is intended as a guide only. We reserve the right to change prices at any time.
Queries and / or complaints: These are handled as quickly and effectively as possible. Most are responded to within 24 hours of receipt and all should be responded to within 5 working days. Very exceptionally, during holiday periods for instance, the response time may be delayed slightly longer.
