Jancis Robinson sums up the 2005 Bordeaux currently on offer. Robinson concludes (Financial Times 01 Nov) that the vintage is "truly outstanding at both ends of the spectrum. This is certainly the time to buy the lesser red Bordeaux, or even the less glamorous classed growths".

Darling VAT Duty Debacle
I sympathise with the poor sods who have to spend hours changing ticket prices during the busy Christmas trading period.
Not me though - duty is going up to £1.57 (+VAT!) per bottle to negate the reduced VAT
