Argentina
The Trapiche winery and vineyards are located in the Province of Mendoza which is in the west of Argentina at the foothills of the Andes mountain range. Tiburcio Benegas founded the Trapiche winery in 1883. The word 'Trapiche' means 'old wine press'. It is one of the original Fine Wine brands from Argentina existing since 1970. Trapiche was IWSC ARGENTINE PRODUCER OF THE YEAR 2006
Australia

We have a superb selection of classic Australian reds, some with bottle age, that offer some of the most intense drinking pleasure available. To go with these monumental reds we have a Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc and Hunter Semillon with delicacy and complexity.
Austria
Austrian wine is rising in popularity through the sheer quality of its wines. The best come from the Wachau Valley, carved out by the “Beautiful Blue Danube” (Johann Strauss) 70 km upstream from Vienna.
King of grapes (and the most widely planted) in Austria is Grüner Veltliner. This variety can produce wines of astonishingly complexity with exotic fruit flavours and a distinctive aroma of fresh ground white pepper. These are superb food wines and very versatile.
The Wachau also produces some of the world's most powerful and incisive dry Riesling.
Beaujolais
Beaujolais is a pretty region just South of Burgundy full of heady, satisfying wines, tainted only by the livid scar of Beaujolais Nouveau – a horrid wine made famous as a marketing gimmick in the 1970’s. Delve a little deeper and you will discover wines that are perfumed, fleshy and moreish.
Big Bottles Great Gifts

Bordeaux
For convenience we have used the 1855 classification to split up our long list from the Médoc.
We also have a fine list from Pomerol, St Emilion and their satellites.

Brazil
The Miolo family came to the far south of Brazil from the Veneto,in 1897.They were grape growers until 1990 when they began to maketheir own wines,Today they aim to become the benchmark for Brazilian wine production;fruit comes from several different sites and istransformed in as natural a manner as possible into a wide range of fine wine.
Burgundy
Burgundy’s myriad of fragmented vineyards and the fickle nature of its predominant red grape variety (Pinot Noir) combine to make Burgundy the most difficult of all wine regions to buy wine from.
We’ve had 2 decades of experience picking our way though this minefield so please contact us for advice on getting to the sublime wines that are certainly to be had.

MAS DE DAUMAS

One of the ten best wines in the world ” : Michael Broadbent

The Ingredients

Organic Viticulture : Sheep poo not chemical fertilizers or any other synthetic products are used at Daumas Gassac.

A Fabulous Terroir : Red powder, rock fragments and limestone formed during the Ice Age. Rich in minerals and poor in nutrients.

Cool Microclimate : Every night cool air from the Larzac hills flows down the Gassac Valley tempering the Languedoc heat.

Ancient Vines : Old strains of uncloned vines give low yields and maximum flavour.

Winemaking : Handpicked grapes, small yields, long fermentations and macerations, light fining with egg whites, no filtration.

Loire
These are fresh white wines from the Loire, whose valley lies well north of Bordeaux and stretches several hundred miles inland from Nantes, through the Touraine and Sancerre regions and on almost to its source in Ardèche.

Balland-Chapuis is one of the region’s oldest producing houses, with a pedigree longer than your arm. Two of their wines received the rare five-star rating in a recent Decanter magazine tasting of Loire white wines.

Rhône
The Rhône wine region lies to the South of Burgundy, stretching over 140 miles from Lyon to Avignon.
Rose
'Oeil de Perdrix'(partridge eye) is a French term much misused to describe the colour of some rosés. As you can see (especially if you click on the larger image) it really means that pale pinky orange colour of the retina that, though these days unfashionable, can still be found in some quality rosés.
Sherry
The Osborne sherry company erected large images of fighting bulls starting in 1956.
These 14 metre high metal silhouettes (these days without the advertising logo) still dot the countryside of Spain and have become an unofficial national symbol.
South Africa
South Africa today produces some of the most vibrant and exciting wines on the planet. Our list is handpicked to showcase the best South Africa has to offer.

USA California
As far back as the 1950's Julio Gallo realised that Sonoma County provided his best source of grapes. Each valley in Sonoma creates a different 'pathway' for the Pacific Ocean's cooling intrusions, resulting in an unparalleled variety of grape-growing climates.
